Alias at Fuorisalone 2025: Lightness of being
The Italian design company, recognised for its iconic furniture, celebrates lightness of form and materials in its new collections, which dialogue in space between balance and innovation.
On the occasion of the Milan Design Week 2025, the legendary Italian company Alias pursues its design research in line with "Something Else". The brand chooses the Fuorisalone to present its new collections, the result of collaborations with legendary designers. Within the spaces of Fondazione Matalon, a cultural and artistic centre in the heart of Milan, established in 2000 by Luciana Matalon, Alias hosts an exhibition that showcases the new creations of Mario Botta, Paolo Rizzatto, Riccardo Blumer, Patrick Norguet and Daniel Rybakken. Functionality, experimentation
and research merge to express the values that define the heterogeneous DNA of Alias. Established in 1979 as a profound and ironic cultural reflection, Alias has always collaborated with great masters of Italian and international design such as Jasper Morrison, Michele de Lucchi, Alberto Meda, James Irvine, Nendo, Philippe Starck, Eugeni Quitllet, Pearson Lloyd, Alfredo Häberli, and Sou Fujimoto, just to name a few, giving rise to unique and essential contributions that enhance the cultural debate in living spaces, in residential, contract and outdoor applications. Among the
new projects, the Saturno table collection and the Zeta stool mark the renewed collaboration between Alias and the architect from Ticino Mario Botta; the French designer Patrick Norguet presents the Maddy sofa system, while Paolo Rizzatto unveils the B-kini cantilever chair. Riccardo Blumer continues his experimentation with Alias with the Lanuda chair and Daniel Rybakken expands his collection with the Lira stools, available in two heights. In addition to the new products, Alias introduces new finishes for the SEC container system, the LEGNOLETTO collection by Alfredo
Häberli, the HIWOOD tables by Gabriele and Oscar Buratti and HUB of Alberto and Francesco Meda. The cutting-edge concepts for materials and colour aesthetics confirm the ability of the brand to renew itself and modernise iconic products in addition to new creations, continuing to position itself as one of the most avant-garde brands on the design scene. The Milan Design Week is also an opportunity to rediscover the Frame limited edition, a reinterpretation of the chair designed by Alberto Meda in 1991.
