ALIAS x The Blank _That Person’s Heaven by Matt Mullican_1

Alias supports Matt Mullican's ‘That Person's Heaven’

an exhibition curated by Stefano Raimondi and produced by The Blank Contemporary Art, on display from 13 November 2025 to 18 January 2026 at Palazzo della Ragione in Bergamo.

Alias is featured with a selection from its collection in the Sala delle Capriate at Palazzo della Ragione in Bergamo, on the occasion of the solo exhibition by American artist Matt Mullican, ‘That Person's Heaven’. Curated by Stefano Raimondi and produced by The Blank Contemporary Art, the exhibition opens the ArtDate Contemporary Art Festival, supported by the Lombardy Region and the Municipality of Bergamo. The artist, whose works are included in the collections of the world's most important museums - including MoMA and the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York, the Tate in London and the Centre Pompidou in Paris - returns to exhibit in an Italian

institution after his retrospective at the Pirelli Hangar Bicocca (2018), creating a new large installation designed specifically for the spaces of Palazzo della Ragione. The title of the exhibition refers to That Person, a specific character that Mullican embodies during his hypnotic sessions, an alter ego that does not fully coincide with the artist, but inhabits his body and uses his voice. It is an entity that express es itself with childish gestures, with seemingly unfiltered language, at times chaotic, at times surprisingly lucid. It is precisely in a state of hypnosis that the work is created, which in its entirety presents itself as a monumental 16x16-metre square grid, composed of

thirty-two works of equal size, half in black and white and half in red. Through hypnosis, “That Person's Heaven” explores the relationships between consciousness and the unconscious, order and chaos, language and perception. It is a symbolic universe where colours, signs and silences intertwine to give shape to a mental landscape in constant motion. Until 18 January 2026, in the evocative setting of the Upper Town, Alias' iconic products enrich the exhibition, masterfully curated by Marzia Maria Minelli: Jasper Morrison's Atlas table, accompanied by Giandomenico Belotti's iconic Spaghetti chairs, welcomes visitors in the elegant reception area. The Laleggera

benches designed by Riccardo Blumer, in the total white version, offer viewers a comfortable vantage point from which to admire the installation. With Matt Mullican's ‘That Person's Heaven’, Alias renews its commitment to enhancing and promoting Bergamo's cultural and artistic heritage, confirming its leading role in the dialogue between design, art and the local area.
