Double recognition for Alias at the Archiproducts Design Awards 2025
Mario Botta's Saturno table and Riccardo Blumer's Lanuda chair were recognised for their design excellence and innovative value.
Alias is pleased to announce that the Saturno table designed by Ticino architect Mario Botta and the Lanuda chair designed by Riccardo Blumer has been awarded at the Archiproducts Design Awards 2025. The selection of the 2025 winners was entrusted to an international jury composed of leading personalities in the world of Architecture and Design. In the furniture category, the Saturno and Lanuda projects stood out for their concept and design. Saturno is a sculptural table characterised by a solid central base that interacts with the top in a balance of solids and voids. Botta's architectural language translates into a rigorous
and iconic geometry, where the structure becomes an expressive element. Designed for domestic and contract environments, Saturno combines material strength and formal purity, embodying timeless elegance. Lanuda, designed by Riccardo Blumer, takes to the extreme the research on essential subtraction applied to the seats, drawing on the innovative heritage of the iconic Laleggera (1996). Made from thin sheets of laser-cut and perforated aluminum, Lanuda reduces the material to a minimum through a reticular process that generates a light, graphic and surprisingly resistant structure. The folded and stiffened surfaces,
joined by rivets, give life to a stackable chair with a strong character, available in a total black version. Introduced in 2016, on yearly basis, the Archiproducts Design Awards bring together the protagonists of the international scene to offer an in-depth look at contemporary creativity. The award celebrates design excellence, recognising the ability to combine experimental research, innovation, functionality and beauty, along with an intelligent and original use of materials and forms. The various award categories testify to the synergy between designers and companies and the contribution that this collaboration offers
to the evolution of design. The Archiproducts Design Awards represent for Alias a significant confirmation of its role in the contemporary design landscape. This recognition highlights not only the projects presented at the recent Milan Design Week, but also the brand's longstanding commitment to research. The double victory of Saturno and Lanuda testifies to the company's ability to transform innovative visions into concrete solutions, combining design quality, experimentation and a cultural vision of design. This result reinforces our commitment to exploring new languages and redefining the boundaries of innovation, guiding the future evolution of the brand.
