Tutto Botta. From Fuorisalone to Zofingen: Mario Botta’s new projects for Alias

Ueli Frauchiger Design AG presents ‘Tutto Botta’, an exhibition dedicated to Mario Botta's latest projects for the renowned design brand Alias, hosted in the historic showroom in Zofingen designed by the Ticino architect in 1989.

The exhibition, open to the public from 14 November 2025, represents an ideal return to its origins: it is in this building, a symbol of a rigorous architectural language that is at the same time open to dialogue with its surroundings, that the dialogue between architecture, design and family business is renewed, reaffirming a shared and consistent vision over time. The link between Mario Botta, Alias and Frauchiger Design began in the 1980s, when the Ticino architect designed his first furniture for the Italian brand. At the same time, Ueli Frauchiger — fascinated by Ticino architecture — began the collaboration that would lead to the

construction of the headquarters in Zofingen (Switzerland), inaugurated in 1993. Today, with Marco Frauchiger at the helm of the second generation, this dialogue is being renewed through new forms and new stories to tell. At the heart of the “Tutto Botta” exhibition are the two new Alias collections, Zeta and Saturno, which confirm the deep connection between architecture and design that has always inspired the work of Ticino architect Mario Botta. Both collections were presented for the first time at the ‘Lightness of being’ exhibition at the Matalon Foundation during Fuorisalone 2025 in Milan, one of the most important international design events.

Strongly influenced by Gerrit Rietveld's principles of Neoplasticism, the Zeta stool expresses a geometric rigour that translates the relationship between form, function and construction into an essential and recognisable graphic sign. An ideal architectural furnishing accessory, in which the precision of construction and the interplay of horizontal and oblique lines express the essence of Mario Botta's design method. The Saturno tables and coffee tables collection is characterised by an architectural design with a skilful balance between solids and voids that gives the product lightness and visual dynamism. The geometric purity of the

forms and the rigorous compositional balance underline the continuity between design and architecture, a distinctive feature of Mario Botta's design language. On 14 November 2025, Mario Botta will be present in person at Ueli Frauchiger Design for the opening to share his creative vision and illustrate his new projects to guests, architects and design enthusiasts.
