LIRA Collection

Daniel Rybakken, 2024

LIRA is the first seating collection designed by Scandinavian designer Daniel Rybakken for Alias. It is the result of a meticulous design process in which a strong, minimalist character is combined with unexpected comfort, guaranteed by the deep curvature of the seat. The geometric silhouette that characterises the whole collection is counterbalanced by the natural materials used; LIRA is made of solid ash wood with elements in curved ash wood, available in a natural finish or in coloured stains. The chair and the stools are supported by steel feet lacquered in different colours, in textured or gloss finishes.
With LIRA Daniel Rybakken aims to create an essential collection with an iconic silhouette.

About
LIRA

LIRA is a seating collection characterised by its graphic lines and unique, recognisable design.
Lira chair formally reflects its name: on two long lacquered steel feet are fixed two solid ash wood beams, between which a cantilevered seat and a curved wooden backrest are connected.
Lira stool is designed to offer the same essentiality and refinement as the original model.
Available in two different heights, it maintains the chair's graphic and minimalist aesthetic while introducing an innovative and counterintuitive approach: Lira stool reinterprets the iconic vertical wooden beams to accommodate a narrow, curved seat designed to offer optimal ergonomic comfort. The absence of a backrest allows the stools to be stacked horizontally rather than vertically, an extremely practical solution for use in public spaces and dynamic spaces.
