For its 45th anniversary, Alias presents its iconic designs and new collections at neue räume 2024. In Zurich from 26 to 29 September.
The historic Italian design brand Alias is continuing to explore its founding philosophy encapsulated in the poetics of ‘Something Else’, which defines its dual nature, combining functionality and creative experimentation, towards the formation of a multiform DNA. Established in 1979 as a deep and ironic cultural reflection, Alias has always collaborated with great masters of Italian and international design, resulting in unique and critical contributions that feed the cultural debate in living spaces, whether in residential, contract or outdoor applications. For neue räume 2024, the prestigious interior design fair in Zurich, Alias is showcased in a domestic and cosy space where new collections – created by contemporary talents, invited to contribute to the brand’s values – intertwine with iconic designs.
The stand design features a minimalist approach that focuses on the living experience: a small private stage on which moments of everyday life unfold. The products are presented in a harmonious ensemble that reflects contemporary living in a more fluid understanding of space, highlighting their versatile design. The four new designs, launched at the latest Salone de Mobile.Milano, include the Nastro lift-up table and Lira chair, the result of a collaboration between Alias and Norwegian designer Daniel Rybakken; Swiss designer Alfredo Häberli designed the Time seating collection, and French designer Patrick Norguetthe Savoy coffee tables.
In addition to new products, Alias is presenting a selection of iconic pieces: Riccardo Blumer’s Laleggera chair (Compasso d’Oro ADI 1998) is presented in a hide-leather version; Giandomenico Belotti’s legendary hide-leather Spaghetti chair, Alberto Meda’s Bigframe and Alfredo Häberli’s Taormina chair all come with the structure in the new gloss varnish. Michele De Lucchi’s Indoor sofa and Alfredo Häberli’s SEC sideboard contribute to completing the lounge area within the installation. In the industrial setting of Oerlikon, Zurich, Alias is sharing its values with visitors through proposals that confirm the brand’s ability to renew itself and update its iconic products, while presenting new creations, continuing to position itself as a pioneering brand in the design scene.
