RedDot Award: product design 2022

We are pleased to announce that Alias wins the prestigious Red Dot Design Award with Frametable outdoor, the aluminium outdoor table designed by Alberto Meda, reconfirming its position as a key figure of Made in Italy Design. The project has been chosen for the high quality of its design by an international jury composed of designers, professors, experts, journalists and will be the protagonist during the Red Dot Design Week from 20 to 24 June 2022, the week in which the award ceremony will take place. 
The aluminium table Frametable outdoor officially joins the Red Dot Design Museum in Essen, which has been collecting award-winning objects since 1955.

Designed in 2003 from an idea of Alberto Meda to reduce the elements that make up the traditional table, Frametable has over time become an Alias best seller. Technological research has made it possible to develop a new system of extruded aluminium tops that allow the table to be declined in the outdoor version, without compromising its design identity and aesthetic image. The new tops, composed of five extruded aluminium slats of reduced thickness, feature an invisible fastening system to the legs and an increased structural load-bearing capacity. The slats, spaced to allow water to drain away, are fixed to a die-cast aluminium support structure that distinguishes the entire collection.

Proposed with a textured  lacquer finish in various colours, Frametable outdoor is available in a fixed version with a top in lengths of 190, 240 and 295 cm. Practical and essential is Frametable folding outdoor, the folding aluminium outdoor table that becomes an intelligent space-saving solution through the simple and immediate gesture of folding the legs. An aluminium outdoor table, both technological and light at the same time, that completes the Alias outdoor proposal and that for its design quality receives one of the biggest and most important design awards at an international level, an award that aims to honour the exceptional quality of designers and manufacturers.
