The Spaghetti armrest is tinged with blue for Casa REdDUO

The Spaghetti armrest designed by Giandomenico Belotti for Alias is tinged with blue for Casa REdDUO, the home-studio created by Fabiola di Virgilio and Andrea Rosso.

Presented during Milan Design Week 2025, Casa REdDUO was conceived as a meeting place between memory and contemporaneity: a home-studio that blends the charm of historic Milan with a creative and experimental vision of everyday life. Fabiola di Virgilio and Andrea Rosso, founders of REdDUO, have brought together virtuous partners who share their vision of innovation, excellence and sustainability. Among these, Alias is present in the studio, separated from the domestic area but easily accessible

thanks to a secret internal passageway, with the iconic Spaghetti chair (1979, Giandomenico Belotti). In this dynamic work environment, which preserves the original soul of the building while adapting to the professional needs of the couple, the Spaghetti chair is offered in a stackable version with armrests and reinterpreted in a special colour: an intense blue that echoes the original tiles of the space and amplifies its identity. The enhancement of the historical elements is thus combined with a contemporary interpretation that renews their meaning without distorting their essence.

"We chose to collaborate with Alias because it is a historic Italian design company with a catalogue of iconic products that still represents a benchmark in the world of design today. The Spaghetti chair seemed perfect for the studio. It is an instantly recognisable object, light, minimalist but at the same time full of meaning. For Casa REdDUO, we worked with Alias to create a customised version, with a bespoke colour scheme that echoes the original tiles in the studio, a vibrant blue that we decided to preserve in order to maintain the vintage allure of the space.

For the seat wire, we chose transparent PVC, a detail that adds lightness and harmonises with the brightness and windows of the space."  —Fabiola Di Virgilio and Andrea Rosso, founders of REdDUO

The collaboration with REdDUO reaffirms the timeless appeal of Alias and its iconic Spaghetti chair, which can adapt to different contexts, demonstrating how a design classic can be transformed through colour details and new cultural influences.
