Ago

The concept behind Ago is the Alias interpretation of the solid wood table. A minimal steel frame support the elegant oval top, the frame is connected to the solidwood legs.

Ago is a project rich with details, revealing great design complexity in its stylistic simplicity. In keeping with Alias’s tradition, this table is the result of a highly innovative technological approach and undivided commitment to the beauty of design.

The protagonist of the table is the top, with its soft and cozy shapes, the technical structure of the table, define the architecture of the object, endows it with a high degree of flexibility. Designed with a soft shape and more pliable, the legs are made of solid wood and anchored to a painted steel fram.

Rectangular tops (90 x 200 cm or 100 x 240 cm) have rounded corners, oval tops (90 x 200 cm or 100 x 240 cm or 100 x 295 cm) allow a great flexibility and fit well to add a few extra guest chairs around the table. All tops are made of veneered MDF with edges featuring the same wood tone as the legs, for a pleasing total wood effect. Natural, whitened, dark stained, walnut stained ash grey or black stained oak finishes coexist harmoniously with the colours of the frame, which comes in a choice of white, sand, black and anthracite grey finishes.

Born in Buenos Aires in 1964, he moved to Zurich in 1977, where in 1988 he began working as curator and designer of numerous exhibitions at the Museum für Gestaltung. In 1991, he graduated in Industrial Design by the Höhere Schule für Gestaltung. In 1997 he designed for Alias SEC, a system of modular elements, and a range of objects under the Danese label. In subsequent years he designed for Alias legnolett and segest, plein air, stabile, cross table and te. The erice and enna chairs and the textile be, the ago table. He lives and works in Zurich.
