Alias is supporting the “Yayoi Kusama - Infinito Presente” exhibition

Alias, an established Italian design brand, is partner of the “Yayoi Kusama. Infinito Presente” (Yayoi Kusama - Infinite Present) exhibition dedicated to the famous Japanese artist. Curated by Stefano Raimondi, director of The Blank - Italy’s leading network devoted to contemporary art and culture – with set-up design by Maria Marzia Minelli, the exhibition will be held in the evocative Sala delle Capriate of Palazzo della Ragione, Bergamo. Here Fireflies on the Water, the Infinity Room by Yayoi Kusama, is shown for the first time in Italy, a prestigious loan from the Whitney Museum in New York for Bergamo - Brescia Italian Capital of Culture 2023. 
Fireflies on the Water is a room-sized installation designed to be visited alone, one person at a time, creating a moment of reflection and intimacy for visitors. Entirely covered with mirrors, the Fireflies on the Water space appears infinite, without a 

beginning or an end, as if it could cause hallucinations in relation to reality. The presence of this single installation made it possible to work on an important aspect, namely waiting space. The moments generated before visiting the installation are transformed into a ‘spiritual’ place with soft light and sound. Arriving at the room’s threshold is a meditative act capable of transporting us into another and different dimension, an invitation to abandon one’s sense of self and surrender to a kind of magic. 
Through timelines, documentary research and films, the exhibition explores Yayoi Kusama’s poetics and influence, creating a physical and digital space to share the lived experience and allowing visitors to enter the famous Japanese artist’s imagery from multiple perspectives. 
The exhibition includes a selection of Alias products. 

Ilvolo table (by Riccardo Blumer) and Spaghetti chairs (by Giandomenico Belotti) welcome the visitors. Alberto Meda’s Frame chairs are positioned in the video room; finally, Laleeggera benches make it possible to enjoy a break in the bookshop created inside the Sala delle Capriate. “2023 is a very important year for the city of Bergamo, which together with its neighbour Brescia has been nominated ‘Italian Capital of Culture’.
