Time, the armchair designed by Alfredo Häberli for Alias is the protagonist at Elle Decor Grand Hotel, Design Therapy

Alias plays the lead role at Elle Decor Grand Hotel, Design Therapy, the exhibition conceived by magazine Elle Decor Italia, in its fourth edition, to explore the development of the hotel concept. Held in the halls of the Palazzo Morando – Costume Moda Immagine, in via Sant’Andrea, Milan, from 4 to 20 October. 
Every year, the concept is entrusted to a different design studio, and this year it is the turn of Matteo Thun & Partners. In collaboration with architect and landscape designer Marco Bay, they are presenting, Design Therapy, a sensory journey with the theme of wellbeing and wellness, which presents a holistic vision of the hotel of the future, which is inspired by the beauty and balance of nature. 
The environments arranged in a sequence to provide an engaging and relaxing itinerary, In the area devoted to fitness, with its old style design, you can find time, the armchair designed for Alias by Alfredo Häberli as a refined tribute to the ancient art of origami. The inspiring principle of this project, in fact, lies in the transformation of a two-dimensional sheet into a three-dimensional structure.
Time was born from the gesture the designer makes to give shape to a shell characterised by outstanding stylistic balance and ergonomic features. The die cutting of the sheet, which consists of a sandwich of wood and composites, enables the parts to fit together perfectly, resulting in an enveloping and ergonomically friendly design. Flexible and sturdy, thanks to the cutting-edge techniques borrowed from snowboard production, the shell of the chair is supported by a minimal metal frame. A cushion placed on the seat enhances its comfort without changing the accurate ergonomics. With time, Häberli challenged the most advanced manufacturing processes, finding in Alias the ideal partner to give voice to a new, contemporary language, where highly innovative contents coexist with a strong human component.
