Lightness and innovation characterise the design philosophy of Alias, which presents its new outdoor collection to complete its outdoor offer.

Alias is a company that has always had a vocation for flexibility; its products are designed to be used in a variety of contexts, domestic, contract and even outdoor. This has always made it possible to maintain a curiosity about the different needs of these worlds. The development of new outdoor products is focused on enhancing and improving some of the collections in the catalogue. Thus, with a view to preserving the brand's DNA, the new outdoor collections have the company's heritage as their starting point. The outdoor history of Alias began with the Green collection by Giandomenico Belotti, developed in 1983, visionary and very innovative. The milestone came with the Setes bench, designed by Alberto Meda and winner of the "A bench for Milan" competition and its subsequent development into the Teak collection, which has become a true archetype of the Alias outdoor collection. Then came the Open collection by James Irvine, cheerful and very graphic like the Kobi collection by Patrick Norguet. Passing through experimental products such as Ghisa by Riccardo Blumer and the Dehors sofa by Michele De Lucchi, which has also become an icon.

Evolution of the collection

A journey into the design experience through its many cultural and stylistic revolutions implemented by Alias in the world of outdoor living. In September 2021 Alias presents new products to expand and complete the outdoor collection. Products often derived from the indoor collections in the catalogue, which are reinterpreted in their shapes and materials, in order to make them ideal for outdoor living.  Ten System, a new upholstered system developed on the basis of the indoor sofa by PearsonLloyd, and Aluzen soft, by Ludovica and Roberto Palomba, are introduced to complete the Alias outdoor living range, bringing it from indoors to outdoors, modifying the upholstery of the sofas and introducing new modules. Two very elegant and refined products that are accompanied by small tables that can be combined with each other. Following the recent re-edition of the Saen table by Gabriele and Oscar Buratti, with revised materials and geometries that are now much softer and more elegant, this table becomes perfect for outdoor use. The Alberto Meda, BiplaneFrame and Teak collections are enriched with new variants. The Biplane coffee tables are introduced in new and contemporary formats, rethought with new finishes suitable for outdoor use. The Frame collection introduces the Frametable table with new tops made of extruded aluminium slats ideal for outdoor use. There are three new features in the Teak family through the new family Tech Wood: the introduction of a new material, heat-treated ash, which makes the entire collection more sustainable; the revision of the chairs, proposed with new proportions to ensure greater comfort. The new elegant aluminium armrests make the small armchairs more consistent with the rest of the products in the collection.  Projects in the chair sector are not lacking, and Alias has always been an undisputed protagonist in the creation of unique collections. The collection of polypropylene slim chairs by the British duo PearsonLloyd, is enriched by the new outdoor version, essential and ergonomic. The Alias outdoor catalogue expands with a new section of special products by Alias LAB. The first products to take part in this new chapter are the Beam tables characterised by a curved aluminium structure supporting natural cedar wood tops. The company's further step represents the idea and vision of Alias to become an increasingly complete brand with a coherent stylistic, broad and transversal response.
